How long is a R&B or Woke Wine Tasting?
Our tastings last about 90 minutes long and are built with time for wine education, charcuterie and enjoyment. Please prepare to arrive on time with your entire party so that we can avoid false starts.
Where is Togun Wines located?
Togun Wines operates several locations close to downtown Oakland from private lofts to pop up space inside of the most amazing small businesses we want you to support. Given the weather or time of year we typically will transition to indoor settings while adhering to CDC and local advising on COVID-19.
Can we see the tasting menu in advance?
Our tastings are curated by our sommelier in training Swan Dotson with support from amazing regional wine producers. These selections are received on a daily basis and are not advertised to the public. We are happy to confirm any allergies or preference request but this is primarily a blind tasting experience to invoke learning and questions. In the past this has allowed us to open up minds and palates despite different preconceptions guests may have. For large private parties this wine selection happens collaboratively to optimize your budget and goals.
How does this compare to winery tastings?
Our goal is to provide a much more relaxed environment that is private and engaging. The sequence of our tasting is responsive to our guests and not predefined as most tasting rooms have to be. We do not wish to be compared to other wine tasting environments because our goal is not to simply taste wine but to provide personal navigation of wine and pairings that are unique to your food preferences and palate.
